Want to help test a new idea that might improve the lives of Leeds residents? Just a few minutes of your time each week for a month can help us create positive social impact.
I’m interested, please tell me more.
For the past two years, we’ve been working with Public Health Leeds on Careview, an award-winning project that’s committed to using technology to improve the lives of residents. This project looks for links between social isolation/loneliness and things that can be observed when walking through a neighbourhood. At the moment we’re adding new features to this digital platform which is accessed by your smartphone and we need your help to test these new features.
I’m very busy, how much time will it take?
No more than a few minutes a week. The trial will last for 4 weeks. Every week, we’ll send you instructions to perform a simple task on your smartphone whilst you’re out on a walk. You need a smartphone with an internet connection and the ability access a web page. You do not have to install an app but we will ask you to access a webpage. This will not eat your battery and uses very little data. We will also ask you to fill in a small form at the beginning and end of the experiment.
Who can take part?
This trial is open to Public Health and NHS staff as well as anyone working in the public sector. You will need access to a smartphone. Do you walk to work? Do you to walk to meetings across the city. Perhaps you enjoy that daily ramble with your dog. Or do you want to meet your goal of taking 10,000 steps a day? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then we’d love to speak with you.
I’m in. What do I do?
We can only invite 25 volunteers on a first come first serve basis. So please get in touch with us no later than May 30 using the form below. One participant will be randomly selected to receive a £25 gift voucher.
